Alex Lemberg, former CEO of Nimbus Platform (a Malta-based cryptocurrency platform under investigation for an alleged pyramid scheme affecting more than 4,000 people and estimated fraud totalling €135 million), was granted provisional release by the Audiencia Nacional, subject to precautionary measures allowing him to reside in Italy within the Schengen Area. Confilegal identifies the defence: “The decision has been made with the acquiescence of both the Public Prosecutor’s Office and María Barbancho, of Barbancho Legal, the firm representing Lemberg.”
